Yesterday, we celebrated Pi Day. Not because I like pi, but moreso because I like pie. And I gladly welcome any excuse that will let me celebrate using something with tons of calories and a high fat content.

Which is the inspiration for this quickie little post. I had to share the link to this UH-MAY-ZINGG peanut butter pie recipe. I didn't take a picture of the pie...because we ate it too fast. There's still half left, but that's an unattractive picture. So instead, I just encourage you all to make this easy easy pie STAT! I think from beginning to end it took us about 20 minutes. And that's only because my friend that I was making it with needed to use splenda instead of powdered sugar, so I had to wrangle out and assemble my food processor so that we could grind the splenda real fine. (Which, btw, was not noticed AT ALL in the final product! Splenda and Black and Decker FTW!)

We also (ok, it was all Jamie) made homemade whipped cream, which I think may have made a huge difference as well.

So eat up my friends! This pie gets a perfect 10 in my book!!!!

When you're the best of friends...

I consider myself to be a pretty lucky girl. I work with some fabulous people. I married into a big and wonderful family (that makes delicious meals and is always down for cocktails). And my husband is, as cliche as it is, my best friend, and definitely my better half.

(he's so cute.. I'm a lucky, lucky girl!)

But I have another half..... a third? I guess I'm broken up into thirds. I refer to her as the wife, since we always seem to be on the same page, even though we live 1200 miles away (I don't wanna talk about it).
(Look how pretty she is!!)

Katy and started out as a rather unlikely duo. I would see her as I was chain smoking cigarettes (ohhh, the intelligent college decisions...) and she would be coming back from an ass-kicking work out in the pool. She'd wave politely, because I'd probably be smiling at her like an idiot, and we carried on our way. It wasn't until we realized that we both believed Madonna's "Immaculate Collection" to be musical genius in the lobby of Rhodes hall one day that maybe we had some things in common. So we went out to buy jellybeans (in bulk, of course), rocked out to Madge, and in doing so, started this unbelievable friendship that we have now.

In our years of friendship, we have gone through ups and downs, relationships, graduations, engagements, weddings, family additions (of the four legged variety :) ) and lots and lots of cheesecakes and pizzas. I consider myself to be INCREDIBLY blessed to have such an amazing friend that I can call on anytime. No matter how wenchy I am, she never judges me. No matter what off-color remark I have, she'll never tell me I'm rude. Idk how we always wind up so completely on the same page, but we do. And it's that kind of friendship that makes me a lucky lucky girl- even if she is forever away.

Happy Sunday, my friends! I hope everyone is able to reflect on and be thankful for the strong, positive people that you have in your lives!

It's the little things.... lots of little things...

It's around this time, every Saturday, that I usually start to get a little sad. The weekend is ALMOST half over....which means tomorrow is gonna go ridiculously fast. So for the next 20 minutes or so, I'm going to reflect on all of the fabulous things I've done/experienced/eaten/received in the mail! And, since you're reading my blog, you are now forced to reflect on these things, too.

1) Yesterday afternoon, I did level 2 of this:

(WITHOUT CRYING! I've never been able to hack this tear free before. Props to my girl, Stace, for hangin tough with me!)

2) I found my new FAVE pizza joint in Houston:

(yes, I'm well aware that this negates number 1...) Holy mother of melted cheesy goodness!! In addition to picking up some fabulous pizza, I also think I might have picked up the high school kid who works there. He thinks my name is Stephanie. It's cool. He looks like Shaggy-Doo.....

I will give him props. His excessive friendliness in front of my husband was ballsy, but also still respectable. Alright, Shaggy, I will let you call me Stephanie.

3) We had a yard sale this morning (HUGESALE!) and got rid of practically ALL of our junk that has been occupying our garage!!! (And by "occupying our garage," I mean it was so bad I would wait a month to do laundry just because it was such a pain in the ass to get to our washer and dryer while carrying a laundry basket...or piles of clean clothes that had been sitting in the dryer for a week). I'd post a picture of our empty (!!!!!!!!!!) garage now, but it's still kinda unorganized and smells like a cat, so I will hold off and just post THIS little gem that I snagged of Lady, tryin' to get in on (or out for) some yard sailin':

4) Since I didn't really wanna take a picture of my own garage, I will at least share with you my hopes and dreams for the future of my pistachio green, 2 car, 2 utility room garage:

I just need to bust out a wall, replace it with windows, and build some beautiful natural landscape in my backyard.

5) I got my iphone lenses in the mail!!!!!! I haven't had a chance to really play with them, as I was busy making millions this morning in my front lawn, but tomorrow- it's game time. If you're a fan of photography, or taking pictures on your iphone and pretending you're good at photography, you should check out Not only do they have fabulous swag, they also put a dinosaur in my package!!! YES!!! Any website that does things like this is totes amazing in my book!!!

(that's's a stow-away-asaurus!!!)

I guess not too bad for the first 24 hours of last-weekend-before-the-last-week-of-school-before-springbreak2k12! Starting THAT countdown on Monday. Happy weekend, friends!
